The founder and director of Street Survivors India Shabnam Ramaswamy was selected chairperson of the Childrens Welfare Committee of Murshidabad, West Bengal in October 2015. She created this project to provide life skills and computer training in the Shilayan Govt. Home for Girls and the Kazi Nazrul Islam Govt. Home for Boys.
This certified computer course and life skills training in personal hygiene, self-defence, children’s rights, etc. with teachers from the local Jagriti public school, provides vital supplement education for circa 160 underprivileged boys and girls.
Ms. Ramaswamy oversees the implementation of this project.
