MOPS_DanceSyndrome

MOPS_DanceSyndrome is an innovative dance project focusing on the limitless possibilities of creative dance and movement once certain prejudices are laid aside. This company, based in Ticino, Switzerland was founded by the dancer and choreograph Ela Franscella, who is also its director and artistic manager. All of the dancers have Downs Syndrome, a genetic anomaly. The various dance projects explore new pathways of creativity and unique expressivity, whilst encouraging the self-esteem of the dancers.

As well as staging performances, the company has created several short dance videos, one of which, “Sparkling Silence” was shown at the NYC Independent Film Festival 2017.
